EMC continue to invest internally to improve our efficiencies. The latest investment comes in the shape of lighting. East Midland Coatings have made the transition to a much more efficient and environmentally friendly LED system across the entire facility. This includes both the shop floor and office area so all staff can benefit from the brighter lighting.
In some areas of the factory the Lumen readings have been measured at over 3 times as bright as previous and on average, throughout both the factory and office, there has been a 105% increase in Lumen readings. In the finishing industry it is imperative, particularly in inspection areas, to have good quality lighting to ensure that our high-performance coatings meet ours, and more importantly our customersÂ’ high standards.
Not only is the light much brighter but it is much more efficient and long lasting. Initial calculations indicate that it will take only 3 years to pay back the initial investment in efficiency savings. Plus reduced lighting maintenance costs means that this investment is a shrewd one.
Demand for EMCÂ’s services is at an all-time high particularly within the automotive sector, in which we supply to Tier 1 and Tier 2 companies. This, couples with our TS16949 accreditation, means that we naturally have high standards to aim for and that we are always looking for ways to continually improve and better ourselves.
